Our treks here take you through varied landscapes from active volcanoes, ice fluted peaks and immense rock monoliths to grassy meadows, moraine and steely blue-green glacial lagoons. In Peru, you can trek through the Cordillera Blanca on the Santa Cruz trail, through high-mountain pastures, alongside turquoise glacial lakes and across high passes. The trip can be completed in 2 weeks from Europe. The Huayhuash Circuit is perhaps the best rugged trek in Peru, which we grade as a 'T2', and is suitable for those with previous trekking experience. You cross seven high passes, up to 5,000m as you circumnavigate the entire mountain range, made famous by Joe Simpson's 'Touching the Void' epic story of survival.
Ecuador is one of our favourite destinations, as the landscape is so varied. On our Ecuador Explorer trek, you start off in Cotopaxi National Park trekking to the tops of 4,000m volcanoes and staying in some wonderful haciendas. You then descend into the Amazon rainforest and stay at Cotococha lodge. Here you will explore the forest in search of armadillos, howler monkeys, anteaters, parrots and hummingbirds.
Patagonia - Fitzroy and Paine incorporates the highlights of Pataongia, including trekking though the Fitzroy Massif, the Perito Moreno Glacier, visiting Torres del Paine National Park and Puerto Natales. You can even extend your trip by two days to visit Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego.
