Saturday to Saturday, 6 full days skiing
Introduction
A week of introductory-level day tours and great off piste with the option of some steeper couloir descents if conditions and ability allow.Corvara is a small ski area linked into the Sella Ronda Circuit in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. As a base it provides great access to off piste skiing on and around the nearby Marmolada and a perfect location for some scenic ski touring amongst the magnificent peaks of the Dolomites.
We aim to make use of the lift systems on most of the days to give us great access to tours and maximise our descent to skinning ratio. Many of the day tours are at an introductory level with the possibility of some steeper ski descents.
As ever in Italy great hospitality and wonderful food are part of the Dolomites experience.Course base: Corvara in Badia
Outline Programme
| Day 1: | Meet in Covara at 7pm. Briefing on the week's activities in the evening. The Course Director will organise any hire equipment or boot fittings for the following morning. Overnight hotel. |
| Day 2: | Off piste ski day. We may use our skins to get to some untracked slopes and gully lines. |
| Day 3: | We head off on the lift system to the Marmolada and extensive off piste terrain. We also have the possibility of spending the day completing the famous Sella Ronda Circuit. |
| Day 4: | Munt da Medalges (2,454m), 900m ascent. A great introductory tour away from the lift systems. |
| Day 5: | Forcella di Mesdi (2,597m), 800m ascent. A beautiful scenic traverse of the Odle Mountains. |
| Day 6: | Col Toronn (2,650m), 1,050m ascent. A great ascent up Val Chedul to a scenic summit and ski down. |
| Day 7: | Antersac (2,471m), 950m ascent. Antersac has a classic descent down its North Couloir. Whilst not extreme, a good level of ski ability and a cool head are required, or return by our line of ascent. |
| Day 8: | Dispersal. Breakfast will be provided on the last morning before leaving the tour. |
