Colombian Mountaineer - new itinerary

New restrictions in Colombia's El Cocuy National Park mean you are currently unable to trek on the eastern slopes of the range, which we previously used to acclimatise prior to climbing Ritacuba Blanco (5,411m). We have adapted our itinerary and will now visit the southern part of the range, where there are some more glaciated 5,000m peaks. We'll set up a base camp at La Laguna Grande de la Sierra, where the aim is to climb two peaks in the cirque above the lake: Pico Concavo (5,170m) and Pico Toti (5,017m). Then, we'll travel to Ritacuba Blanco and climb this peak, which we've reached the summit of three times before.

So, our new two-week itinerary now includes the possibility of climbing three peaks above 5,000m. It is still graded 2A and is suitable for fit mountain walkers, with crampon experience.
