NEW DATE Svalbard Polar Taster - April 2024
Due to demand we've added an additional Svalbard Polar Taster trip in April 2024.
Intrigued by this high arctic archipelago, home to the polar bear, located up at 78 degrees north - the closest habitation to the North Pole? New to cross country skiing and winter camping? By early April it is almost 24 hours daylight and the mountains surrounding Longyearbyen are teeming with the sound of birds returning after the long dark winter nights. Even on this polar taster trip, which includes a night out in a tent, the increased 'wilderness aspect' of these experiences will likely affect you with a lifetime desire to keep returning to fulfil your Polar Bug. Keep a look out for Svalbard reindeer, ptarmigan and the arctic fox, even close to the accommodation in Longyearbyen. Also the 'polar king' (Polar Bear) although we can't guarantee you'll see this!
